Preliminary task and evaluation

In media we were given a task and we had to create a shot scene. The whole class was put into groups of 3s. Someone had to be in charge of the camera - that was me. The teacher gave a word out to each group which we had to create a scene relating to the word. In my group there was Alice, Joanna and me , we were give the word ' Surprise'. As a group we came up with the idea of two girls on results day getting their results. One of them failed whereas the other one passed. The preliminary task helped me a  lot with storyboarding, filming and editing.

The preliminary task helped me on my storyboarding as i had to use my imagination to create an instant story, based on a word. We had to place our ideas on paper and draw them out. We had to include the type of shots we were going to use , whether it was going to be long shot, close up, etc. This helped me learn all the different type of shots.

When it came to filming this task helped me a lot improving my filming skills. During the filming my group and I were able to include all the different type of shots. I also learned how to use the tripod. How to set it up and place the camera on top. This helps the camera keep steady without wobbling. It also helped me filming couple of shots like the high shot.

Editing was one of my favorite parts. We were asked to use a program called Final Cut Pro to edit all the shots. This task helped me because I learned how to remove scenes I didn't need or want and how to cut sections of the shot I didn't need. I also learned to add and remove specific scenes on the timeline and which letters to use on the keyboard.

I found all storyboarding , filming and editing really helpful as I needed all these techniques to be bale to complete my preliminary task.
